Sugartown
Sugartown are one of the Finest Disco Soul and Party Bands in the UK. Established 8 years ago as a muse for a group of musicians playing the '70's and 80's Soul Weekender' Disco soul music they loved, for the enjoyment of themselves and Friends. Sugartown are regulars to the Butlins Soul and Disco week-ends as well as regular private function work. Sugartown are NOT a Cheesy MOR band performing the few tired old Disco tunes that they know. Sugartown are an exceptionally talented, reliable and energetic group of players performing carefully selected iconic tunes from the 70's and early 80's to present that make people want to dance!
Options
The Sugartown Set can be as specific or broadly mixed as required to suit the audience, For example 70's/ 80's Disco soul(Dance floor classics from the period)

Standard line up is Male Vocal plus 3 male Backing vocals. Optional Female vocalists and horn section available as required
Includes Mixed Music of your choice around sets or DJ as required.

Paul Holgate - Lead vocals and Band manager - Providing the band with powerful funky and soulful vocals .His outstanding range and versatility enabling the band to perform a mix of tunes that other UK male vocal groups rarely attempt, setting the band apart from their peers. When coupled with his engagingly dynamic stage performance the audience never fail to 'dance till they drop'. Although now a full time musician and writer his background in corporate business management ensures that the band runs like clockwork from enquiry to encore. Sessions and writing credits include: Boyzone, worlds apart , Pandora, China Crisis, Curiosity.
Russell carr - Bassist - Trained at the Academy of contemporary music and drawing on his experience in the field of pop, funk dance and jazz Russell intuitively lays down a phat n funky groove to ensure everyone who has a pulse can't help but move. Sessions / appearances include: Stevie Salas/ earl slick, pepsi chart show, Guy Chambers, Skunk Anansie
Des Garrett - Drumist ! / Vocals - Des's experience spans years of dedicated work, from covers bands to original projects. A stickler for detail Des sets the pace, working tightly with the bass putting funk into every hit. An excellent vocalist in his own right Des provides the right harmonies and vocal backing for every tune. Sessions and appearances include: TBC
Carl Membrino - Keyboards / Vocals - Since studying for his Degree in Jazz music at Leeds college of music Carl has perfected his craft both here and abroad. His intuitive style of playing comes from the heart and this shows in his performance as he literally dances Through the set. Jaw dropping ability, groove and feel. This boy is hot!! Aquilla Fearon - Featured vocalist Optional - Yes, Distant cousin to 'Phil', Aquilla is one of the leading female vocalists on the UK circuit having performed at most the top venues throughout her career. Aquilla's powerful vocals perfectly complement the other voices in the band, expanding the set to include all the 'Soul Diva' Classics.
